Mr. Ashok Lavasa is a distinguished retired officer of the Indian Administrative Service of the 1980 Haryana cadre, with over four decades of experience in senior positions in the Government of India and the Government of Haryana. Mr. Lavasa was appointed as one of the Election Commissioners of India in January 2018, where he was part of the constitutional body responsible for conducting the 2019 general elections to the Lok Sabha. In this role he dealt with complex electoral processes, scrutiny of nominations, model code of conduct issues and high‑stake national campaigns, demonstrating independence and integrity in electoral decision‑making. Prior to this, he retired as Union Finance Secretary in October 2017 after serving in the Ministry of Finance, handling budgetary control and financial governance at the highest level. He has also held top positions as Secretary in the Ministries of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Civil Aviation, and as senior officer in the Power and Home Affairs ministries, reflecting wide administrative and regulatory experience.
Mr. K.F. Wilfred served as the Senior Principal Secretary at the Election Commission of India (ECI), one of the senior-most administrative positions within the constitutional body responsible for conducting free and fair elections in India. As the Senior Principal Secretary, Mr. Wilfred held a critical administrative role supporting the Election Commission in its constitutional mandate. He served during a period when the Election Commission of India was strengthening its institutional capacity and dealing with the complexities of conducting elections in the world’s largest democracy. His role involved interfacing with various stakeholders, managing electoral logistics, and ensuring compliance with electoral laws and procedures across India’s diverse electoral landscape. He has also assisted the electoral authority in conducting elections in the Indian Olympic Association in 2012 and the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) in 2020 and his vast expertise will be of immense help in conducting our elections.
